Legal Disclosure
Last updated: October 2026
This disclosure governs the ACM MAJU ERP system (the "Portal") and its companion mobile application (the "App"), together the "Platform." Please read the Software Platform & Licence Disclosure section carefully, as it sets out the ownership of, and the conditions of continued access to, the Platform.
Operator
The Platform is operated for and on behalf of the ACM MAJU Student Chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) at Mohammad Ali Jinnah University (MAJU), Karachi, Pakistan. Day-to-day operation is carried out by the elected officers of the Chapter for the time being in office.
Represented by
The Chapter is represented by its serving executive council (the elected President, Vice President, General Secretary, and other office-bearers as constituted under the ACM MAJU constitution).
Contact
General enquiries may be directed to [email protected] or through our contact page.
Responsible for content
The Chapter is responsible for the content it publishes and administers within the Platform (member records, events, announcements, and other chapter-generated material), excluding third-party materials and the underlying software platform described below.
Software Platform & Licence Disclosure
The Portal and the App run on software developed by Inspedium Corporation ("Inspedium"). The Platform is an ACM-appropriate ERP system and mobile application built as a closed, in-house project of Inspedium Corporation by a selected team of eight developers.
The Platform is an Inspedium Corporation product provided to ACM MAJU indefinitely for use and upgrades. This grant is a licence to use the Platform; it is not a transfer of ownership. All intellectual property rights in the software, source code, design, and associated materials remain with Inspedium Corporation at all times.
Only Inspedium Corporation holds the right to distribute licences of the Platform. No officer, member, representative, or third party may copy, sublicense, redistribute, resell, or otherwise transfer the Platform or any part of it to any other party without the prior written authorisation of Inspedium Corporation.
Primary domain & conditions of continued access
Provided that the constitution of ACM MAJU and of the ACM organization is followed in full, and that continuity of contact with Inspedium Corporation is established and maintained, the Platform's primary domain will be maju.acm.org.
If those conditions are not met, Inspedium Corporation reserves the right to revoke all access and revert the Platform back to acmmaju.inspedium.net, where it will remain hosted until the conditions are again satisfied in full. Access will be reverted in either of the following circumstances:
- Breach of constitution — if ACM MAJU, or any of its officers or members, breaches the constitution of ACM MAJU or the constitution and bylaws of the ACM organization in any way; or
- Loss of continuity of contact — if no elected officer of ACM MAJU contacts Inspedium Corporation, through the immediately preceding (most recently outgoing) President, in order to maintain and renew the Chapter's access to the Platform.
Upon revocation, Inspedium Corporation may suspend Chapter access and restore the application to its own hosting at acmmaju.inspedium.net until all conditions above are followed, at which point the primary domain may be restored to maju.acm.org.
During any such period of reversion, member-area functions will remain intact — members retain access to their accounts and the features available to them — except for admin-panel functionality, which will be suspended until the Platform is fully restored to the primary domain and all conditions above are again satisfied.
Web master competency requirement
For each new tenure, the web masters elected into their positions must pass a competency test organised by Inspedium Corporation before assuming responsibility for the Platform. The purpose of the test is to ensure that those entrusted with the Platform are competent to operate and maintain it.
Web masters who have completed an internship with Inspedium Corporation are exempt from this test.
Software provider / Licensor
- Provider: Inspedium Corporation ("Inspedium").
- Rights holder: Inspedium Corporation holds all intellectual property rights in the Platform.
- Rehosting / fallback domain: acmmaju.inspedium.net.
Copyright & intellectual property
A distinction applies between two categories of material:
- Chapter content — member data, events, announcements, and other material created and administered by ACM MAJU — belongs to the Chapter.
- The software platform — the ERP system, the mobile application, their source code, design, and all underlying components — is owned by Inspedium Corporation and is made available to the Chapter under the licence described above.
External links
Where the Platform links to third-party websites or services, responsibility for the content of those sites rests with their respective operators. ACM MAJU and Inspedium Corporation accept no responsibility for external content.
No participation in consumer dispute resolution
Neither ACM MAJU nor Inspedium Corporation is obliged to, and neither will, participate in dispute-resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration body, except where required to do so by applicable law.
Scope of this disclosure
This disclosure applies to the ACM MAJU Portal, its associated web services, and the official ACM MAJU mobile application.
